This method of cutting is ideal for intricate designs or for projects that require a very tight tolerance.
The EDM is capable of holding tolerances of up to +/- .0002 and creates a smooth, flat surface without burrs.
The process uses water, not cutting oils, to keep the material cool and clean. An electrical current travels along a wire generating a spark which is used to cut the material while water flushes the cutting area to keep any debris from accumulating.
This process can be used to cut any conductive materials.
